BD Vacutainer® CPT™ Tubes

BD Vacutainer® CPT™ System (Cell Preparation Tube). This patented system with integrated FICOLL™ gradient allows the isolation of up to 15 million mononuclear cells (PBMCs) within 30 minutes in one step. The blood is drawn directly into the CPT™ tube and the PBMCs are isolated by a simple centrifugation step with this tube. The traditional dilution of blood, overlaying of FICOLL™ and careful pipetting of the cell layer are eliminated. CPT™ tubes contain a combined density separation system of FICOLL™ and gel that permanently separates the mononuclear cells from the other blood cells during centrifugation. The centrifugation can be stopped with a brake. The PBMCs are simply decanted in the plasma or can be stored and transported directly in the tube for 24 hours or longer, depending on the intended use. The risk of sample contamination is minimised by this one-step method, additional tubes, pipettes and reagents are not required. The CPT™ system is clinically documented for immune function tests (cell stimulation), HLA typing, detection of tumour cells and isolation of DNA /RNA, among others.
